Apart from her newly found job of washing carrots at the vegetable market in Agbogbloshie, the rest activities of her life in the slum popularly known as Sodom and Gomorrah which is very close to the market consisted mainly of either watching adult movies or taking alcohol. The novel faceless begins with a fourteen year old girl named Fofo who was sleeping on an old cardboard at the Agbogbloshie market. Faceless holds a good message to the society and I recommend you get a copy if you haven’t read it. Having children one can adequately care for will drastically reduce the number of street children in Africa. More pronounced is the message that no child should be brought into the world without visible means of providing for him physically, financially, psychologically and emotionally. Street children do not fall from the sky so where do they come from? Why are they on the street and Who are their parents? These are the questions faceless tried to answer.ĭiscussed strongly in the novel is the loud and clear message that parents should take responsibility for their children.
